WHY THREE BIRDS?
-Maria
"RISE UP THIS MORNIN', SMILE WITH THE RISIN' SUN, THREE LITTLE BIRDS, PITCH BY MY DOORSTEP, SINGIN' SWEET SONGS, OF MELODIES PURE AND TRUE, SAYIN' THIS IS MY MESSAGE TO YOU,
SINGIN' DON'T WORRY 'BOUT A THING, 'CAUSE EVERY LITTLE THING GONNA BE ALL RIGHT..."
The name THREE BIRDS has special meaning for me in a few different ways:
FIRST, it reminds me of my 3 girls. Being Mommy to them has taught me so much about love, about being a helper, about patience, and about courage. I love watching them grow and experience the world. Being a mother to girls has emboldened my desire to work toward creating a safer, more accepting, and more welcoming world to all bodies. I hope as they continue to grow, they will experience the wonder and power of all their bodies have to offer.
SECOND, is my journey through pregnancy loss, infertility, and childbirth. You can read more about my experience here.
THIRD, is Bob Marley’s song “Three Birds,” which to me is about hope, renewal, and the courage to believe that things can be better.
FINALLY, Three Birds reflects what we hope to offer you as a client:
HOPE (that things can get better),
HEALING (from the hurts and traumas you’ve experienced), and
HOME (where & when you experience connection & co-regulation with yourself, with your body, with others, & with the world).
